"And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him." Br. Samuel Babu, Believers Brethren Assembly, (BBA), Majlis - Bahrain For the last few days, we have been relentlessly praying for Br. Samuel Babu, who suffered Cardiac Problems and was admitted in Salmaniya Medical Complex, Bahrain. It was well pleasing for our Lord to call HIS child to the Eternal Home, where there is no pain, no sorrow, no tears, no sickness and no death. He went to be with the LORD around 10:30 PM Bahrain Time today (Friday 23rd 2015). Let us uphold the grieving family members to the Throne of Grace. May the Lord bestow upon them heavenly Grace, Peace and strength and console them with the word of God.

THE FALSEHOOD OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES

CHAPTER II

THE FALSE PROPHECIES OF JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES

Bro. Vinayadas Abraham

Under this Chapter, it would be pertinent to see what the Word of God says concerning false prophets. Deut 18:22

“When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.”

The above verse gives clear guidelines for detecting a false prophet i.e. if his prediction failed to come to pass, then he is a false prophet. Words/prophecies of Prophets of the Omniscient God cannot fail. If there are failed prophecies, then the self-styled prophets are false prophets and the Word of God says that they should be put to death. (Deut. 18:20). Let us test if Jehovah’s Witnesses are the true prophets or false prophets from the following historical facts:

* JW’s Prophecy in 1888

            "In this chapter we present the Bible evidence proving that the full end of the times of the gentiles, i.e., the full end of their lease of dominion, will be reached in A.D. 1914; and that the date will be the farthest limit of the rule of imperfect men. And be it observed, that if this is shown to be a fact firmly established by the Scriptures, it will prove; Firstly, that at that date the Kingdom of God, for which our Lord taught us to pray, saying, Thy Kingdom come, will obtain full, universal control, and that it will then be set up, or firmly established, in the earth, on the ruins of present institutions." (The Time Is At Hand, 1888, p. 76, 77)

* JW’s Prophecy in 1889

            "In the coming 26 years, all present governments will be overthrown and dissolved." (C.T. Russell, Studies in the Scriptures, Vol. 2, p. 98-99, 1889)

* JW’s Statement in 1914

when their previous predictions for the end of the world failed.

            "Even if the time of our change should not come within ten years, what more should we ask? Are we not a blessed, happy people? Is not our God faithful? If anyone knows anything better, let him take it. If any of you ever find anything better, we hope you will tell us." (Watchtower Dec 15, 1914, p. 376.)

* J.W. did not stop their false prophecies. Once again they dared to predict as follows:

            "In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the kingdom of God, will be accomplished near the end of A.D. 1915. (The Time Is At Hand, 1915 edition, p. 99)

            Nothing happened in the year 1915!

* When there was no sign of fulfillment of their false prophecies, JWs shamelessly stated in 1925 as follows:

            "The year 1925 is here. With great expectation Christians have looked forward to this year. Many have confidently expected that all members of the body of Christ will be changed to heavenly glory during this year. This may be accomplished. It may not be. In his own due time God will accomplish his purposes concerning his people. Christians should not be so deeply concerned about what may transpire this year." (Watchtower, Jan. 1, 1925, p. 3)

* Here is a clear admission of the Watchtower Society that their previous failed predictions were not from God:

            "Some anticipated that the work would end in 1925, but the Lord did not state so. The difficulty was that the friends inflated their imaginations beyond reason; and that when their imaginations burst asunder, they were inclined to throw away everything." (Watchtower 1926 p. 232.)

            Do we need any further evidence to stamp the Watchtower Society or the cult today known as Jehovah’s Witnesses as “false prophets”, deserving divine punishment!

* The 2nd President of the Watchtower Society’s folly in building an earthly mansion for the Patriarchs and others could be seen in the following report:

            “Judge Joseph Frederick Rutherford 60, lives in a ten room Spanish mansion, No. 4440 Braeburn Rd, San Diego, Calif. Last week he deeded No 4440 Braeburn Road, and adjacent two car garage and a pair of automobiles to King David, Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, Samuel and sundry other mighties of ancient Palestine. Positive is he that they are shortly to reappear on earth, Said he: “I have purposely landscaped the place with palm and olive trees so that these princes of the universe will feel at home.” (Time Magazine, March 31, 1930)

* How the Jehovah’s Witnesses are falsely lead by the Watchtower Society could be seen from the following:

            "Would it be scripturally proper for them to marry and begin to rear children? No, is the answer, which is supported by the scriptures....I will be far better to be unhampered and without burdens, that they may do the Lord’s will now, as the Lord commands, and also be without hindrance during Armageddon. … Those... who now contemplate marriage, it would seem, would do better if they wait a few years, until the fiery storm of Armageddon is gone." (Face the Facts, 1938, p. 46, 47, 50)

            We feel pity for those JWs who heeded to this false advice of the Society and abstained from marrying and rearing children!

            The Apostle Paul, by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, must have foreseen these unscriptural teachings when he wrote 1 Tim. 4:1-3 :

            Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; Forbidding to marry…”

* In spite of proven records of failed prophecies, the Watchtower Society, once again ventured into another prophecy as follows:

            "According to this trustworthy Bible chronology six thousand years from man's creation will end in 1975, and the seventh period of a thousand years of human history will begin in the fall of 1975. Six thousand years of man's existence on earth will soon be up, yea within this generation. The rein of Christ...to run parallel with the 7th millennium ..." (Life Everlasting in Freedom of the Sons of God, 1966, p. 29-30)

            For us living in 2008, it is needless to mention that the above is nothing but a false prophecy of the Jehovah’s Witnesses!

* In the year 1968, the Watchtower Society openly admitted the following:

            "True, there have been those in times past who predicted an "end" to the world, even announcing a specific date. Yet nothing happened. The 'end' did not come. They were guilty of false prophesying. Why? What was missing? Missing from such people were God's truths and the evidence that He was using and guiding them.'' (Awake, Oct. 8, 1968)

            From the above admission it is very clear that the so-called “Jehovah’s Witnesses” are not the witnesses of the True God, but of Satan, who is a liar and father of lies.

A lengthy list of many other failed prophecies of the Jehovah’s Witnesses can be produced here, but the above are sufficient to reject the Jehovah’s Witnesses as false prophets.

Not only does the Bible give us a simple test for false prophets, which we considered at the beginning of this Chapter, namely that their prophecies will fail, but the Word of God has more to say about prophecies and prophesying. The Bible reveals three sources for prophecy i.e. (a) it is from God and inspired by Him; (b) it is from the Devil and inspired by him and (c) prophecies can come out of "the flesh", or out of our "own spirit".

Since the Watchtower Society has so many failed prophecies, it is clear that they are not prophesying by God's direction, and through His Holy Spirit. This leaves us with two alternatives for the false prophecies of the Watchtower Society – (a) they are from Satan, or (b) they are from "the flesh". Since the Watchtower has admitted that they have made mistakes or falsely prophesied, their failed prophecies are either from the Devil or came out of the flesh.

On the cover page of the “Veekshakopuram” (Watchtower, May 01, 1992), it is boldly written, “Beware of the False Prophets!” From the foregoing paragraphs, it is apparent who the false prophet is. The JWs have adopted the tactics of “sheep’s clothing” in order to deceive millions of people around the world. We close this Chapter on the False Prophecies of Jehovah’s Witnesses by quoting Our Omniscient Lord’s warning:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matt 7:15).
